We've always found it much better for us to be able to choose from tons of TV shows or movies whenever we like, and have found it very convenient for those favorite shows of the munchkin's that just HAVE to be watched over, and over, and over....
At the price point of $7.99 a month it was a steal for us (especially since I pay every month with my Paypal money earned through Swagbucks!). But we were starting to feel limited in what was available for us to watch.
We discovered a great site a little while ago to help fix that, and I have to say...US Netflix rocks! The selection of movies and TV shows it at least double that available on Canadian Netflix, and more mainstream and recent too!
Here's how to get US Netflix in Canada...
1)Visit www.unblock-us.com and sign up! You're first week is free, and then you pay $5.00/month.
2)Visit the How To Set Up section of UnblockUs and find the device you will be using the service on (for example, we followed the instructions for Nintendo Wii, since that's what we watch Netflix on) and follow the easy step by step instructions.
3)Enjoy! We were good to go in less than 5 minutes!
You basically are paying to use their servers, which tells Netflix that you are viewing from the US instead of Canada, and voila!
This service brings our total cost each month to $12.99 plus tax (all paid for by Swagbucks!) so still way cheaper than any satellite option, and offers more choices than I ever would have imagined!
*NOTE*--One thing I do have to say is that I was disappointed with the selection of children's movies on the US Netflix. We usually switch our settings back each morning (which takes only a minute) so we're accessing the Canadian Netflix children's movies and shows for the munchkin as they are MUCH better!
