Effective Thursday Sept. 8, the remaining 253 Blockbuster stores in Canada will halt rentals and begin a liquidation sale in preparation of closing October 1.As sad as this is for those that will be losing their jobs, this is a great opportunity to do some early christmas shopping! The sales beginning Friday, September 9, will begin at 15% off game systems, electronics and accessories, and 25% off movies. This will progress over the month of Spetember to 40%, 50% and eventually 70% off in the last week.
Keep in mind that while waiting for the 70% may seem like a great idea, selection will be severely picked over from the previous weeks, so finding a specific item you may be looking for will probably not be likely. If you're just in it for the savings and are ok with just seeing what's left, the last week is the week to go!
